Skills was high on the list of recommendations.Jan developed Facilitation Skills training packages that were subsequently accredited by the NSW Vocational Education & Training Board (VETAB), and gained reciprocal recognition from the official accrediting bodies in other States and Territories.  Her training programs were widely acknowledged as representing International Best Practice in training principals.  During this period she trained over 2,000 business professionals including Business Enterprise Centre staff and management, bankers, accountants, lawyers and financial advisers in business facilitation.

She feels her greatest achievement was training indigenous business advisors (on behalf of ATSIC) who, in turn, would use their facilitation skills to assist other indigenous people to set up and run their own businesses.Jan is now the Managing Director of “Business in Action”, a highly successful consultancy providing tailored learning solutions for many of the top one hundred industries in Australia.  She believes that effective learning has to be participative and interactive – her learning events are built around practical exercises, role play and real life case studies.  Her training style focuses not only on explaining new ideas or developing new skills, but also on motivating people to use them and develop themselves as individuals.

She has a MBA majoring in Business Communication; she is a Nationally Accredited Trainer and Workplace Assessor, and a certified NLP Practitioner, a Member of the Australian Institute of Enterprise Facilitators, the Australian Institute of Training and Development, the Australian Institute of Management and the Institute of Personnel & Development (London).  She is on the board of a major enterprise as advisor for Learning and Development and in the late 90’s Jan won a Telstra Business Woman of the Year Award as one of Australia’s most successful business women.
